Market Update: Sunmor Estates, Palm Springs, Meiselman Mid-Century Moderns

Palm Springs has been buzzing with MCM preservationists, real estate investors, hopeful flippers searching for the holy grail (an untouched, original condition Meiselman/Alexander) and a handful of mid-westerners gathering ideas for their ranch-style MCM's back home. I had over 400 people through my open house (in one day) in the historic Sunmor Estates neighborhood which made me think to share these incredible photos for inspiration and a recent market update for those looking to buy or invest in a vacation rental property. If you are curious to know vacation rental income potential or would like to determine the value of your MCM, email me at npatzner@homgroup.com or 760-340-2211.

SUNMOR is a well-known central Palm Springs neighborhood comprised of a remarkably intact collection of mid-century homes built in the late 50s and early 1960s. The neighborhood is bordered by Palm Springs City Hall and the International Airport on the east, Farrell Drive on the west, and East Tamarisk and Andreas Road to the north and south respectively.

The two primary builders of Sunmor houses were locally prominent builder Robert “Bob” C. Higgins and the nationally prominent team of Robert Alexander and his father, George Alexander, of the Alexander Construction Company.
